Riverbend Retreat Center

At Evolve to Live, we have always believed that a place to decompress and commune with nature is critical for our well-being. The Riverbend Retreat Center has held several zip codes in the past, moving from Northern California into Southern AZ. Recently, the space in Sahuarita, AZ was sold and while we knew another piece of property would show up, we weren’t quite sure where that would be.

After exploring the state of Arizona extensively (like, the tip top of Flagstaff all the way to Nogales and everything in between) an opportunity arose to purchase a small plot of land in Marana, AZ. This space is just at the base of the Tortolita Mountains and under the Owl Head Buttes – about 30 minutes north of Tucson – and being in the heart of the Sonoran desert, is home to thousands of ancient saguaros.

While we were anticipating buying a large piece of land with the dream of hosting 10-15 tiny, self-sustaining homes, Covid-19 threw a small wrench in that plan and we had to pivot. So instead, we bought a 1.7 acres plot of land, received a $22k loan from the SBA and mustered up a whole lot of pure imagination – and we are starting the build Oct 1!

The goal is to parlay this first piece into a larger plot with the initial dream not forgotten, just slightly delayed. We are building a space for everyone – a home for communal living, retreat, quiet and peace. Whether you stay a weekend or a lifetime, this space centers all of the principals that Evolve to Live holds dear. This is the HEART of Self-Care.
